One of the big questions I get about college applications is about how to make a student stand out amidst a sea of good grades and school clubs.
For students looking to differentiate themselves, I recommend looking into research-based programs and internships.
These programs typically take place in summer, and they provide your child hands-on experience in the science, tech, and engineering fields.
Aside from enriching your child academically, these programs may help your child’s applications stand out, particularly with those larger, research-based universities.
If your child is interested in participating in a research program, the Pathways to Science website is a great place to start your search.

The PrepScholar blog has also compiled a list of programs for you and your child to consider.
